What we offer
We work with organisations of all shapes and sizes in many business sectors to create and implement crisis management plans that really work.
-
Review & update
We offer a comprehensive review of your existing crisis and incident response plans to ensure they are fit for purpose. This includes a review of the written plans, as well as interviews with managers who are likely to be involved in a response to major incidents.

Crisis management plans & aide-memoire
A crisis management plan is the bedrock of good crisis response. It contains practical detail, is laid out in a logical manner, and is concise and easy to follow. It is designed to be used by the people most likely to respond to a major incident - not just by the business continuity manager, managing director or CEO!
A crisis management aide-memoire is a handy, credit-card sized résumé of a crisis management plan. It contains contact details of all those who may need to respond to a crisis and acts as a sophisticated 'tick list' to ensure nothing is overlooked when a major incident occurs. The aide-memoire is designed to be carried by at least the crisis management team at all times.

Training & exercises
A crisis management plan is just one part of crisis readiness: staff must be trained on how to put that plan into practice. Our training typically consists of an interactive workshop, which develops individual skills, promotes team building and increases group effectiveness.
An exercise is a specific form of training, and is an efficient and effective way to validate a crisis management plan and identify any issues that may need further development.
We run exercises at different intensity levels - from a simple table top, to interactive role-play, to a live exercise involving other response organisations. We also recommend using exercises to test specific aspects of crisis management, such as HR, IT or media handling.
We conduct a debrief for every exercise we run, in which we collect and discuss any issues. We then produce a post-exercise report, together with recommendations for improvement.

Crisis communication & media handling
Good media handling during and after a crisis can protect an organisation’s reputation, and may even enhance it.
CEDARthree can provide draft press statements and training for interviews and press conferences. We also offer internal and external reviews of an organisation’s communications, and can help to develop a communication/media crisis management plan.
We work with skilled journalists and reporters, and recommend that media interviews are included in crisis management exercises.
